Toussaint Minett
Builder · Engineering
Toussaint is the tinkerer, from the data pipelines and models to the apps people use. Years of leading Trust & Safety engineering teams make safety a default consideration in what we build.
ABOUT
Toussaint is the builder behind M3T Labs, and an engineering leader in San Francisco. When a technology is new, he is hands-on with it early, intent on learning how it works before deciding what it’s for. That habit has taken him from 3D games early on to iOS at Groupon and machine learning for abuse and compliance at Twitter. Today he is focused on applied AI solutions and large data analytics pipelines across high-performing engineering teams.

Partner · Users, Sales & Finance
Titilope brings customer and go-to-market judgment to M3T Labs: how people decide to buy, and what they need when they ask for help. She’s focused on the users and acts as the operational glue. She has been Toussaint’s thought partner for years, and her judgment shapes what we build and how we bring it to people.
COLLEGE
Before he graduated, Toussaint was a games developer for a university department that studies video games and learning. He learned real-time 3D by shipping with it: an iOS title built in Unity, and years of C#. B.S. Computer Sciences, UW–Madison.
GROUPON
Three years at Groupon, first as a full-stack engineer and then as an iOS developer, while the rules for building on phones were still being written.
TWITTER · ENGINEER
Seven years at Twitter, starting as a senior engineer in Health, the organization better known as Trust & Safety. He applied machine learning to abuse and compliance: checking new signups, sorting reports by how reliable the reporter had been, and a German hate-speech classifier built for the NetzDG law. He won Twitter Hackathons for early adoption and application of ML Kit and ARKit on iOS. One prototype overlaid recent tweets on what the phone’s camera saw. Another flagged a likely toxic tweet on the phone before it was sent. Both came from trying the tools early, before there was a playbook for them.
TWITTER · ENGINEERING MANAGER
As an engineering manager in Health he led the teams behind Reporting, Appeals and User Notice. Those are the systems a person touches when something goes wrong, and the ones that tell them what happened. He led the engineering work for Twitter’s EU Digital Services Act readiness and its obligations under several national laws, and brought Health’s core systems to new products.
TODAY · APPLIED AI AT SCALE
Today he leads engineering across applied AI, machine learning and large data pipelines. These teams ship the products that bring clarity to vast amounts of customer data, and thoughtfully integrate AI as a superpower for end users. Customer trust is paramount, which means data quality and model observability take center stage in the day to day.
M3T LABS
The team at M3T Labs built its first project, LeagueCoin, a sports market priced by machine learning. Its public site is offline for now, and the project is open to partners who can help cover the data-licensing and state-by-state regulatory work it takes to bring it to life. PersonaForge, an AI persona platform, is in private beta. Both are on the Work page.
The workCuriosity connects that path. He learns a new technology by building with it, until he can see where it helps and where it breaks. That is how he finds the less obvious solutions, and the range above is the result, not the goal. He took two habits from Twitter: build safety in from the start, and measure a system by what it misses.
Currently curious about spatial computing: visionOS and Unreal (Procedural Content Generation).
M3T Labs is two people. Toussaint does the building: he learned AI the way he learned every technology before it, early and hands-on, until he knew how it fails. He defines what each piece must do and how it will be tested, and checks every result against that. Titilope keeps the work pointed at the people it is for. They decide together what to build and why.
Not hiring right now. If you’d like to work together on something, say so.
Twitter and Groupon are named as former employers. Neither is affiliated with M3T Labs, and neither endorses it.
